About Anirudh
Anirudh Ravichander, born on October 16, 1990, is a renowned Indian music composer, music producer, and singer known for his work primarily in the Tamil film industry. Credited anonymously as Anirudh, he has also composed music for various Telugu films. Anirudh is the son of actor Ravi Raghavendra and the nephew of the legendary Rajinikanth.
With a remarkable career, Anirudh has garnered several prestigious awards and accolades. He has been honored with three Filmfare Awards, nine SIIMA Awards, six Edison Awards, and five Vijay Awards, highlighting his exceptional talent and contributions to the music industry.
Anirudh made a sensational debut with the song “Why This Kolaveri Di” for the 2012 film “3.” The song became a global sensation, amassing over 300 million views on YouTube. His collaboration with director A.R. Murugadoss on the film “Kaththi” (2014), starring Vijay, yielded another viral hit, “Selfie Pulla.” The film’s soundtrack became one of Anirudh’s most celebrated works until he was approached to compose music for Rajinikanth’s “Petta” in 2019, further elevating his profile.
In 2016, Anirudh signed a significant record deal with Sony Music, which enables the publication of his independent albums and live concert recordings.
